Client 1: An Entertainer's
Delight: This was a complete renovation of front and
back with stacked rock retaining walls, a pool, spa,
waterfall and outdoor kitchen. The mulch along the house
is recycled tumbled glass to match the turquoise pots
and accessories. This garden was featured on the Valley
Oak Respite Center Garden Tour in 2006. |

Client 2: Blank Slate in a New
Home: A hillside, back and side yards were
transformed into distinct rooms. Slate was used on the
patios and geometric slate stepping stones were made to
transition between the two areas. Fountains and
striking pots add dramatic interest. Hillside plantings
and a patio cover gave much needed privacy. |

Client 3: Property Recaptured:
Front, back and two side yards were completely
redone. The fence was pushed out on one side to make use
of this area as a new room. A utilitarian side yard was
transformed into a lovely raised shade garden on one
side and a vegetable garden on the other. Flagstone was
used on the main patio and flagstone accents on the
other patios and walkways. This garden was featured on
the Valley Humane Garden Tour in 2006. |

Client 4: Pond Transformation:
A concrete pond the size of a small swimming pool was
removed and a new, smaller waterfall and pond were built
in this lovely shade garden. Boulders were added
and repositioned to define the border. A loose set
flagstone patio was added for additional seating. The
deck adds interest and is in harmony with the natural
feel desired by the client.

Client 5: What a Difference a
Wall Makes!: This client was interested in Feng Shui. To
achieve more harmony in the garden, a straight redwood retaining wall was
removed and a curved, stacked rock wall installed. Soft, full plantings and
succulents in the rock wall add textural interest. In the forgotten side yard,
blue tumbled glass was included in the dry creek bed to simulate water and to
blend with the client’s collection of blue accessories. |
